The nose that bleeds suddenly or a spectacular fall that causes us to have a wound on the forehead with abundant blood that falls on our spotless shirt. Once the initial scare is over and at home, the task of clean those clothes from that blood stain It is a bit difficult for it to disappear if we just put it in the washing machine.
Try these simple tricks
Learn these home remedies if you want to remove all traces of blood from clothing, especially if that dirt has dried up on that fabric.
- Peroxide. This trick can be used for both clothing items and for example for the sheets if we have had a nosebleed at night without realizing it. Thanks to its oxidation effect, it eliminates microorganisms from that stain, while helping to whiten clothes. To do this, apply the hydrogen peroxide on that blood stain and let it act for a couple of minutes. Next, let the garment soak in cold water for half an hour. What we are looking for with these two actions is make the stain soften. Now, rinse it off and rub the stained area with a little mild soap to remove any remaining remains. The final step is to put the garment in the washing machine, but using a cold water program.
- Water with salt. Go to the kitchen and put a handful of salt in a bowl of water. Mix both elements until you have a paste and apply it on the blood stain, especially if it is on a mattress. Wait for it to soften and see how blood is absorbed. Then rub and brush the area. Finally, give it a blow dryer to remove any traces of moisture.
- Ice water or a dissolved aspirin. Two other tricks are to put ice in water or dissolve an aspirin. In the first case, thanks to a wet cloth in that ice we can rub carefully to remove that complicated blood stain from the garment or fabric (for example, a carpet); while, on the other hand, we can make a paste with aspirin to leave it on that blood until it disappears completely. Once we verify that this is the case, we wash that garment with cold water and soap as normal.
