How to remove ink stains from clothes

Paint, ink, marker … are the dreaded tough stains, those that are so complicated to remove. In the market, there are increasingly products that help to end these stains that are very strong, expand and become embedded very quickly in the surfaces on which they fall, but at home we also have many solutions at our fingertips that you would not have thought of. We propose some home remedies to fight against these difficult stains caused by paints and dyes:

Milk for ink

When we have an ink stain, the ideal is to be able to quickly pour a quantity of milk over it to cover it, leave it to act for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water. Another option is to place the ink-stained garment in a pot of boiling milk and then wash it in hot soapy water. And a third possibility is to place a cloth soaked in milk on top of the stain to absorb the ink.

Fresh ink salt

Another great ally against recent ink stains is salt. We have to cover the stain with salt that will be absorbed by the ink. When the salt is colored, repeat the operation until it is completely absorbed by the ink. To finish, we clean the remains with burning alcohol.

Tomato and ink

One more: the tomato. It is an excellent natural stain remover on ink. It is enough to rub half a tomato on the stain and rinse thoroughly with water and then wash the garment as we always do.

Marker and pen

How many times the children’s clothing looks more like a canvas. If we have a garment with marker stains we can immediately sprinkle with talcum powder so that it does not spread, let it act and rub. Then moisten the stain from behind and soak it on the right side with alcohol. We will also finish washing the garment as usual.

Another option is to erase the small pen or marker strokes with the tip of a cloth dipped in undiluted lemon juice.

Acrylic paint

If we have changed the pens for the brush and the stain is acrylic paint, the first thing we have to do is try to absorb it with paper napkins or cotton wool. Afterwards, we wash the garment with soap and water.

If the stains are oil-based paint, better rub with alcohol and then rinse with cold water to finish washing the garment as usual.
